Fonts should be located in the windows font folder for Autocad to "find" them. Using any TTF's (such as Arial) usually don't give you this problem because 99.9999% of window installations have these fonts installed by default. Use the STYLE command to see if this font is in your template.

If the SHX file is in the AutoCAD Fonts folder and the program still does not show the font in the text editor, the file is corrupt or otherwise unreadable by AutoCAD. Obtain another copy of the SHX font file and replace it. Damaged AutoCAD settings files
